Saint Marsal is an invitation to rest and do just what you want; the magnificent scenery encourages you to relax. Here you can opt for a leisure, sporting or culinary holiday: it’s up to you.

Less than 3 km from Saint Marsal, the small Taulis River provides an opportunity for family bathing. The water is fresh and the sun shines down between the mountainsides, a peaceful and pleasant place. If you feel like it, the River Tech at Amélie les Bains (about 20km away) is a bigger river with bathing places upstream and downstream from the town. There is also a large municipal swimming pool at Amélie les Bains.

The beautiful forests of the Pyrenees are the ideal place to pick wild mushrooms; you will find the following varieties: ceps (boletus), chanterelles, morels, horns of plenty. Please don’t get carried away and keep your harvest within the limits and rules of thumb required to ensure the sustainability of the mushrooms and their surroundings.
Miles of forest tracks are available for mountain biking. From Saint Marsal you can climb to the Batère beacon or go further into the Canigou massif.
From saint Marsal you can set out to discover:

- The seaside resorts like Argelès sur Mer, Collioure, Canet en Roussillon, Saint Cyprien
- The Costa Brava and its hinterland (the Dalí Museum in Figueres)
- The Haut Vallespir and its magnificent villages
- The magnificent and unique Citadel of Mont-Louis, the fortified town of Villefranche-de-Conflent, the Mount Canigou, Font Romeu.
A tennis court just outside the village is open to all..


The petanque court hosts a competition every Friday evening in summer.



At the edge of Mount Canigou, the stables in the village of La Bastide a few kilometres friom Saint Marsal provides various excursions from an hour to several days.
These stables above 3,000 ft of altitude in the heart of the Roussillon mountains are an ideal point of departure for magnificent excursions. Visit the area in a different way!
